Skye; the Island was the first album produced by Macmeanmna, and was originally made to accompany an audio-visual show of the same name which toured the Highlands & Islands, the rest of Scotland, and Canada in 1987 and 1988. It featured songs, tunes and poetry from the Isle of Skye, some of them written especially for the show, and features singers Arthur Cormack and Shona MacDonald, multi-instrumentalist Blair Douglas, and photographer and broadcaster Cailean Maclean, who recites the poetry.
