Buinidh Ceana Chaimbeul don Ghrìob anns an Eilean Sgitheanach agus do theaghlach aig a bheil ùidh mhòr ann an ceòl is òrain. Choisinn i am Bonn Òr aig Mòd 1959. Thug i iomadh bliadhna a' teagasg ann an sgoiltean taobh Ghlaschu. Bha i os cionn sgoil anns an robh clann aig an robh feumalachdan sònraichte mus do ghabh i dreuchd mar òraidiche aig Acadamaidh Rìoghail Ceòl is Dràma na h-Alba, an RSAMD, a' teagasg air a' chùrsa BA Ceòl Albannach. 'S iomadh oileanach a tha an-diugh cliùiteach a tha an comain Cheana.

Chaidh duais Sàr Ghàidheal a thoirt dhi le Sabhal Mòr Ostaig agus chaidh MBE a bhuileachadh oirre.

This album includes songs of love and longing, and songs which give us a glimpse of a way of life and belief, all woven together by Kenna's exquisite voice.

This release, produced by Arthur Cormack and Mary Ann Kennedy, is a collection of BBC archive recordings over thirty years, combined with newly-recorded material for the album at Cava Studios in Glasgow. Also on the album are Kenna’s younger daughter Wilma, and Bannal – a group of Glasgow-based women who specialise in the performance of waulking songs.
